Cub Scout Fall Adventures

 

Come join us for our Fall Adventures at Camp T. L. James in Downsville.  Get ready for a weekend full of Adventure!  Scouts will travel through different "worlds", take on challenges, collect gold coins, learn new skills, and have a ton of fun along the way!

SATURDAY ADVENTURE LEVELS:

Target World --- Archery & BB Guns

Climbing World --- Conquer the Rock Wall

Rescue World ---- Learn First Aid Skills

Coin Challenges ---- Complete Challenges and collect Gold Coins

Camp Kitchen Challenge ----- Put your cooking skills to the test in our Cast-Iron Cook-Off Saturday night.

 The dish must be cooked at camp by the Scout(s).

SATURDAY AT SUNDOWN ----- BONUS LEVEL!!  When the sun goes down, grab a chair or blanket and settle in under the stars for an outdoor showing of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie!

SUNDAY MORNING ----- THE FINAL WORLD! We'll wrap up our weekend adventure with a Scout lead worship service at 9:00 am. and the Fishing Derby!  (Please bring your fishing pole and bait if you would like to participate)  Cast your line, reel in a catch, and see who comes out on top!

Fall Adventures will be held at Camp T. L. James.  The camp will be open to begin campsite setup on Friday, October 2nd, at 4:00 p.m. (NO EARLIER)  Please check the camp site assignment form to see which campsite your Unit/Pack is assigned.  Check-in will begin Friday at 5:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. at the Rain Forest Pavilion.  CAMPSITE DRIVE THROUGH WILL END AT SUNDOWN.  For all participants' safety, you will not be allowed to drive through the campsites after dark. Please plan accordingly.

Saturday check in will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the opening ceremony will be at 8:30 a.m. (at the flagpole by the tree houses) with activities beginning at 9:00 a.m.  T-shirts will be available for pick-up at the Trading Post after the opening ceremony.

PLEASE remember no open-toed shoes or pets allowed at Camp. IF you have a service animal that needs to attend with you please contact the office.  All families should familiarize themselves with the Guide to Safe Scouting and our Camp Rules.  Scouts must be accompanied by a parent at all times during camp.

The cost for the first Cub Scout is $50 (includes 1-t-shirt and 1-patch). In order to receive the t-shirt that comes with this registration, you must be registered and paid by Thursday, September 24th.  Registration will then remain open through Thursday, October 1st, but a t-shirt is not guaranteed after September 24th.

Each additional Cub Scout or participating sibling attending camp is $10.00 and will include 1 patch per registered youth.  Age guidelines for siblings will be equivalent to the rules for Scouts of that age. (For example, any siblings in Kindergarten will follow the activities guidelines of our Lions).

Additional t-shirts are $12.00 and additional patches are $4.00 and can be purchased through Thursday, September 24th.

No food will be provided.  Please plan accordingly.  A small concession stand with snacks/drinks and Scouting items will be available during the day on Saturday.
