Spring Adventures in Cub Scouting
Cub Scouts and their families are invited to join us for a weekend of fun at Camp T. L. James in Downsville, La.
Come out and join us for Spring Adventures in Cub Scouting!!! Friday, March 1st through Sunday, March 3rd.
Wildlife and Fisheries' will be joining us to help our Scouts learn and explore why Louisiana is called the Sportman's Paradise. Along with all the fun of Archery, BB Guns, Sling Shots and the Climbing wall along with so much more! New this year is a Dutch Oven cook off for all Scouts. (The dish must be prepared and cooked by the Scout at camp on Saturday evening). Our campout will wrap up on Saturday night with closing ceremonies and a movie at the pavilion next to the council fire ring. For those who would like to join us we will have Chaple service at the pavilion Sunday morning.
The Cost for the first registered Cub Scout is $50 (includes 1 t-shirt and 1 patch. You will select your free t-shirt under the class section of the registration.) In order to recieve the t-shirt that comes with this registration, you must be registered and paid by Friday, February 23nd. Registration will then reamin open through Thursday, March 29th but will not include the t-shirt.
Each additional Cub Scout or sibling that will be participating is $10 each and fee includes a patch. Age guidelines for siblings will be equivalent to the rules for Scouts of that age. (For example, any siblings in Kindergarten will follow the activity guidelines for our Lion Cubs).
Additional t-shirts are $12.00. Extra patches are $4.00 Extra t-shirts and patchs will be abailable for order through Friday, February 23rd.
No food will be provided. Please plan accordingly. A small concession stand with snacks/drinks/and Scouting gear will be available during the day on Saturday.
On Friday, the camp will open to begin campsite set up at 3:00 p.m. Check in will begin on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the Rain Forest Pavilion. CAMPSITE DRIVE THROUGH WILL END AT SUNDOWN. For all participants safety, you WILL NOT be allowed to drive through the campsites after dark. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
Saturday check in will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the opening ceremony will be at 8:30 a.m. (at the flagpole by the tree house) with activities beginning at 9:00 a.m. T-shirts will be available for pick up at the Trading Post after the opening ceremony.
Please remember no open-toed shoes allowed in the Camp. All families should familiarize themselevs with the Guide to Safe Scouting and our Camp Rules. Scouts must be accompanied by a parent at all times during camp.
