Plans are being made for our 2008 summer camp program at Camp T.L. James. This year is going to be packed with new Merit Badges, Camp wide games, and we will offer a Horsemanship Week, June 23-27, 2008. We are working on a great staff to operate this coming camp. Some of the key program staff have already signed up and are very excited about camp this year. If you need information on camp please e-mail me Brad Edgeworth, Program Director at: doclove02@aol.com and I will get you on the right track for a great summer camp.

Council President Danny Van is pleased to announce that R. David Sorrell has been selected as the new Scout Executive for the Louisiana Purchase Council, Boy Scouts of America. David comes to the Louisiana Purchase Council from the Yocona Area Council in Tupelo, MS, where he served as Assistant Scout Executive.

The Louisiana Purchase Council is made up of the 20 Parishes seen in this map of Louisiana. Parishes include: Allen, Avoyelles, Caldwell, Catahoula, Concordia, East Carroll, Franklin, Grant, Jackson, LaSalle, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Rapides, Richland, Tensas, Union, West Carroll, and Winn.
