Hear Ye, Hear Ye,

The Louisiana Purchase Council is calling all brave Knights, one and all to attend: "A Cub Scout In King Arthur's Court" Day Camp 

We have a great day of fun and excitement planned for our Cub Scouts this year.  Join us in the great outdoors at Camp Attakapas for our Knight themed Day Camp.  Scouts and their families will be able to participate in activities such as shooting sports, catapults, obstacle courses, crafts, canoeing, and more throughout the day!!  Each scout is encouraged to dress the part.  Put on your best Knights Themed Costume (Knights, Dragons, and Royalty) for the day and come join in on the fun.


This will be a single day event.  Check in will begin at 8:00 a.m. Saturday Morning at the Trading Post. Flag Ceremony will be at 8:30 a.m. at the Flagpole, with event rotations to follow.  We will have a ton of fun planned throughout the day, ending with a closing campfire ceremony in the evening.  Our campfire ceremony will include a themed costume contest, so be sure to wear your knight, dragon or royalty costumes!


This year will NOT be a normal Council camp-out.  This event will be held Saturday, ending with the closing campfire.   If your Pack wishes to plan to camp, please contact the Scout office.  This will be determined based on the state guidelines for the Phase we are in at the time.  Your Pack does not have to currently be holding in person meetings for your families to attend this Day Camp, but all families should have at least one Scout who is actively registered.  For questions or to volunteer, please contact Vinson Mouser @ 337-459-1013.

The cost for the first registered Cub Scout is $40 (includes 1 t-shirt and 1 patch). In order to receive the t-shirt that comes with this registration, you must be registered and paid by Wednesday, October 14th. Registration will then remain open through Wednesday, October 21st but will not include the t-shirt.

Each additional Cub Scout or sibling that will be participating is $10  each and will include 1 patch. Age guidelines for siblings will be equivalent to the rules for Scouts of that age. (For example, any siblings in Kindergarten will follow the activity guidelines of our Lion Cubs).

Additional t-shirts may be purchased for $12 (Youth Small through Adult XL) and $14 (Adult 2XL and 3XL) and can be order through October 14th. Additional patches can be purchased for $3 apiece through October 14th.

Pre-ordered t-shirts will be available for pick up at the Trading Post after the opening ceremony.  This year the trading post will also carry a selection of Cub Scout uniform pieces (shirts, neckerchief, slides, ext..).

Please remember no alcohol, smoking, or open-toed shoes allowed in the Camp. All families should familiarize themselves with the Guide to Safe Scouting and our Camp Rules. Scouts should be accompanied by a parent at all times during camp.

No food will be provided. Please plan accordingly. A small concession stand with snacks/drinks/and Scouting gear will be available during the day on Saturday.

Please note that if you pay online you will be assessed a small convenience fee.  If you do not want to pay online, hit pay by mail option on payment screen and still hit the purchase button. All payments must be received by the Thursday before the event.
