Hear Ye, Hear Ye

The Louisiana Purchase Council is calling brave Knights, one and all to attend:  "A Halloween's Knight" Day Camp


We have a great day of fun and excitement planned for our Cub Scouts this year.  Join us in the great outdoors at T. L. James as we celebrate the season with a Knight themed Day Camp. Scouts and their families will be able to participate in activities such as shooting sports, canoeing, and more throughout the day!!


This will be a single day event.  Check in will begin at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the Rain Forest Pavilion in Cub World.  Flag Ceremony will be at 8:30 a.m. at the Flag Pole, with event rotations to follow.   We will have a ton of fun planned throughout the day, ending with a closing campfire ceremony in the evening.  Our campfire ceremony will include a themed costume contest, so be sure to wear or bring your knight, dragon or royalty costumes!


This year, will NOT be a normal Council camp-out.  All Council events will be held Saturday, ending with the closing campfire.  If your Pack wishes to plan to camp during one of these weekends, please contact the Scout office.  This will be determined based on the state guidelines for the Phase we are in at the time.  Your Pack does not have to currently be holding in person meetings for your families to attend this Day Camp, but all families should have at least one Scout who is actively registered.


The cost for the first registered Cub Scout is  $40 (includes 1 t-shirt and 1 patch). In order to receive the t-shirt that comes with this registration, you must be registered and paid by Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020. Registration will then remain open through end of day Wednesday, September 30th, but will not include a t-shirt. 

Each additional Scout or participating sibling attending camp is just $10 and will include 1 patch per registered youth. Age guidelines for siblings will be equivalent to the rules for Scouts of that age. (For example, any siblings in Kindergarten will follow the activity guidelines of our Lion Cubs).

Additional t-shirts may be purchased for $12 (Y-S through A-XL) and $14 (Adult 2XL and 3XL) and can be order through September 23rd. Additional patches can be purchased for $3 apiece through Wednesday,September 23rd.

Lunch will not be provided.  Please plan accordingly.  A small concession stand with snacks/drinks/and Scouting gear will be available during the day.

T-shirts will be available for pick up at the trading post (is located in the Training Room inside the Rain Forest Pavilion) after the opening ceremony.

Please remember no open-toed shoes allowed in the Camp. All families should familiarize themselves with the Guide to Safe Scouting and our Camp Rules. Scouts should be accompanied by a parent at all times during camp.

Please be sure to check your email for information regarding any changes to the event due to state regulation changes, etc.
